This Privacy Policy explains how ShrinkGIF.com ("ShrinkGIF", "we", "us") handles information when you use our website and online GIF compressor. We have tried to keep it clear and short. By using the site you agree to this policy.
ShrinkGIF is a client-side tool. When you select a GIF, the file is read and processed by JavaScript running in your own browser using your device's memory and CPU. The file is not uploaded to our servers, and we cannot access, store, copy or share it. When you close the browser tab or page, the file is released by the browser.
Because we never receive your files, we also cannot retrieve them for you or inspect them if something goes wrong. See the contact page for how to report issues.
We do not collect personal information such as your name or email address unless you contact us voluntarily. The following categories of technical information may be processed automatically:
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We use them (and related technologies such as local storage) for two purposes: to remember your cookie choice, and — only if you consent — to support advertising as described in section 5. You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. Blocking cookies does not stop the compressor from working.
To keep ShrinkGIF free, the site may display advertising served by Google and other third-party advertising vendors.
Opting out of personalised advertising. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of the use of cookies for personalised advertising by many third-party vendors at www.aboutads.info, or (in Europe) at www.youronlinechoices.eu. Opting out means you may still see ads, but they will not be personalised.

ShrinkGIF is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We keep information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Technical logs are retained by our service providers for a limited period. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the site, but no method of transmission or storage over the Internet is completely secure.
The site may contain links to third-party websites (for example, opt-out pages or platform documentation). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
